trying to identify this movie!!?

Someone very dear to me described this movie to me the other day, commenting how it had sparked her imagination, and said how much she would love to get a copy of it. Of course, with the holidays approaching, i thought "gift idea!" but, of course, theres a difficulty. She saw the movie when she was a child and doesnt know the name of it...Shes been researching for years trying to find out what it may have been, but all she knows is that there was a statue brought to life who then has a romantic relationship with the man who brought her to life, and that the movie is old...black and white. She doesnt know who starred or any other details. I thought it may be "One Touch of Venus", starring Ava Gardner, but i was reading a description of that on IMDB and it said that the item brought to life in that was a mannequin, and my friend is resolute that it was a statue, not a mannequin. Any thoughts?

Yes, "One touch of Venus" sounds right. It was a statue of Venus...
If she can remember any other detail of the plot, maybe we could confirm it... For example... does she remember anything about peanuts?
