Store Fixtures
Can anyone tell me when Kansas City Showcase & Store Fixture Works was in business?
I need to know when they opened and when they closed. They were located at 622 E. Third Street in Kansas City, Missouri. The telephone number was just listed as 237 (that tells you it may have been quite a while ago).
Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!
I think they opened in 1922 and closed in 1945 BUT... my only source on this is my grandfather so these may be off by a little bit.

Why won't my new bathtub fixtures fit on the stem?
I'm trying to replace my hot/cold knobs, and my shower/bath toggle knob in my bathtub, and I've been to the hardware store many times trying to get the right kind of knob. Nothing is working. What looks like should fit doesn't, and when we've finally found knobs that do fit, they don't attach properly and the bathtub spout now has a leak. What are we doing wrong? Should we give up on DIY and hire a plumber? (All for stupid bathtub fixtures!!!) So frustrating!
Did you use the white tape on the threads when you screwed it on ?
