Adjustable Dress Form
Does anyone have an opinion of dress forms?
I'm looking into getting an adjustable dress form, and wondered if anyone had any good tips or brands when looking.
Particularly, I'm looking at the Singer adjustable dress form, but cannot find any helpful reviews.
Any input or advice would be appreciated.
Excuse me. On dress forms. I didn't realize I had written that wrong.
I'm a pro dressmaker with clients in many sizes. I have 4 dress forms in various size ranges. The most recent (purchased a year of so ago) are Singer 150 &151. I bought them during a Joann's sale because I think around $100-$120 is enough to pay for adjustables. Mine are fine. I change the sizes often. I will caution the need to be sure the height adjust is secure before you put on a garment.
You will never get an exact size duplication from a dummy because it is impossible to duplicate someone's posture, but they are very helpful for for certain sewing steps and visualizing where you want your design to go. The down side can be the lack of collapsible shoulders when dressing them, but those dummies cost $400-$800 and are not adjustable.

Where can I buy an adjustable plus size dress form in Canada?
I need a PLUS size dress form -- adjustable - from a Canadian company. I have done a lot of online shopping, and have seen many from USA, but I want to buy from Canada, shipped from Canada. BONUS if I can find one locally (I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia)
On Main street in dartmouth there is a really nice store called Always &Forever that Seles wedding dresses and connected to it is another store that had really nice dressy dresses. I think that could be your best bet!
