How to find a mannequin?

I work in a charity shop and we need a mannequin, preferably with a head. Got any ideas where to look for one. Must be free or at least cheap as we don't have much in petty cash.

jump into m&s with a balaclava and an air pistol, scream"i'm taking the mannequin, don't flippin stop me" and run with it through your local shopping precinct. cost=free, plus a nice floral dress for sale which cost you nowt!

As the Mannequin Turns

Can a fashion designer model their own clothing designs?

In my fashion school, the professors often told students that your own designs and sewn garments must be worn on mannequins or other models, never on yourself: You do not model your own works. Why is that? Is it considered arrogant or looked down upon?

I need to display some garments I made, but I thought of saving on costs by wearing them myself rather than to hire a model. Would that be acceptable?

I think I depends on what you're modeling your line for.
For example, if you want to put your line on a website and just need to take images of your garments then definitely just take images of yourself wearing them. However, if you're displaying them in person I would definitely say, hire some models! By wearing your own clothes to display them it seems as if your garments were made for you and only you, but if you hire models it shows that anyone could wear your line.
Good luck!
