Dummy on Dummy CPR Training
CPR and First Aid Training
Why is it important for you to take a CPR and/or First Aid Training Course?
One of the simplest answers is that it could save the life of a family member, friend, a stranger or even yourself! Another modern day reason is that many 'customer service' conscious companies such as Hotels and Airlines, now require those applying for a job to be certified in what's commonly regarded as BLS (Basic Life Support). Supplementary First Aid Training Courses are designed for the layperson, not necessarily for professional Emergency Medical Technicians even though most First Aid Courses follow the same protocols. The main thrust of CPR and First Aid Training is to develop the confidence and skills to care for an injured person/s until the medical professionals (EMS) arrive.
Emergency First Response training is generally divided into two main sections. The first section deals with potentially life threatening situations, such as SCA (sudden cardiac arrest), serious bleeding and spinal injury management. The second section is commonly regarded as secondary care 1st aid and deals with non life threatening situations such as minor injuries and illnesses.
CPR (Primary Care) and First Aid Training
This primary care training develops CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) skills and techniques which combine chest compressions with rescue breathing that are delivered to a victim who is considered to be in cardiac arrest. CPR is important because if cardiac arrest occurs, it usually means that the heart has stopped pumping blood but CPR can sustain a small amount of blood flow to the major organs such as the heart and the brain. Cardiac arrest is potentailly fatal if it's not treated within minutes, hence (CPR) is the most basic of all medical training classes. There is no greater emergency than a patient without a pulse which is why CPR may be used to extend the window of opportunity to restore the patient's heart beat. However, it should be noted that CPR alone will not normally restart the heart.
The use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is paramount for this purpose and aed's are becoming much more available in areas of public mass such as Airports and Stadiums. AED's are portable devices that apply sharp electrical shocks to the heart when its beating becomes dangerously rapidly or chaotic. The shocks can restore normal heart rhythms before the malfunctioning heart suffers sudden cardiac arrest, which is a seizure than can be fatal within minutes. AED Training is now very affordable and the Automated External Defibrillator Certification can usually be completed in half a day of tuition.
First Aid (Secondary Care)
Basic First Aid is immediate and temporary treatment of a victim of sudden illness or injury while awaiting the arrival of professional medical aid. Proper and early measures may be instrumental in ensuring a better and more rapid recovery. First Aid courses cover the avoidance of unnecessary movement and over-excitation of the victim to prevent further injury. The essentials of First Aid treatment also include the correct bandaging of a wound, the application of splints for fractures and dislocations, treatment of frostbite, fainting, bites, stings, burns and heat exhaustion. With more than 30,000 Emergency First Response Instructors worldwide and backed by almost 40 years of experience in the development and delivery of CPR and First Aid Training Courses, Emergency First Response® is one of the fastest-growing CPR, AED and First Aid Training organisation having already gained widespread International acceptance.
Our CPR Instructor Trainers offer the full range of EFR First Aid Training courses in Bangkok, Pattaya and other selected provinces in Thailand. Each course is conveniently designed to meet your requirements whether you're an individual or a large corporation and all the study materials necessary for full First Aid Certification, an emergency care at a glance card (pocket size), cpr training manual and real hands-on CPR training on a practice mannequin are included in the lessons. Personal Identification Cards are presented to each student upon successful completion of the course and the CPR Certification is valid for two years.
