Mannequin

A mannequin (also called manikin, mannikin, dummy, or lay figure) is an often articulated doll used by artists, tailors, dressmakers, and others especially to display or fit clothing. During the 1950s, mannequins were also used in nuclear tests to help illustrate the effects of nuclear weapons on human beings. The term is also used for lifesized dolls with simulated airways used in the teaching of first aid, CPR, and advanced airway management skills such as intubation and for human figures used in computer simulation to model the behaviour of the human body. Mannequin is also used in English in the sense of fashion model. Mannequin comes from the French word mannequin, which had acquired the meaning an artists jointed model, which in turn came from the Middle Dutch word mannekijn, meaning little man, figurine. HUman Molecule models

Modeling has become a career option

However, models may be considered to express emotion in their photographs or video. Types of modeling include fashion, glamour, fitness, bikini, fine art, and body-part models. A model (from Middle French modèle), sometimes called a mannequin, is a person who is employed for the purpose of displaying and promoting fashion clothing or other products and for advertising or promotional purposes or who poses for works of art. Models are features in a variety of media formats including books, magazines, movies, newspapers, and TV. Appearing in a movie or a play is not considered modeling. Modeling is distinguished from other types of public performance, such as an acting, dancing or mime artist, although the boundary is not well defined. male models for fashion are young handsome hunks, to show their physique and show the latest collection of dresses. Various representations of beauty and fashion using models have caused controversy and is known to have some social impact, particularly on young people - both male and female. The first person described as a fashion model is Parisian shop girl, Marie Vernet Worth. Fashion modeling may involve catwalk or runway modeling or editorial modeling, covering photography for magazine spreads, ad campaigns, catalogues, print etc. The emphasis of fashion photography is on the clothes or accessories, not the model. Some are used for petite modeling or plus-size modeling. Models may be used to display and promote clothing. Fashion models may be used to display or promote various types of clothing, such as lingerie, swimsuit, and bikini. Models may be used in showroom, fit modeling, fitness or sporty modeling. The preferred average dimensions for a male model are a height of 5 ft 10 in (78 m) to 6 ft 3 in (91 m), a waist of 26–33 in (04–82 cm) and a chest measurement of 32–40 in (28–160 cm).Male runway models have been noted as being skinny and well toned to fit the clothes, whereas editorial models cover all body types from slender to muscular. In the art school classroom setting, the purpose is to learn how to draw humans of all different shapes, ages and ethnicities, so there are no real limitations on which the model can be. Through throughout the history of Western Art, drawing the human figure from living models was considered the most useful tool in developing the skill of draftsmanship. In some cases, the model may pose with various props, one or more other models, animals etc. Previously male modeling was considered something which should not be encouraged .Now with changing times it really becoming popular.
