Tone Female Full How can someone have a "feminine tone" in their writing?
This girl that's a b**tch with a capital B from my stats class keeps emailing me and insulting me because I offered my stats notes to the class at a price and apparently my mass email to the class disrupted her precious little email box..whatever.
But anyway..she writes me back and says this:
I just thought you should know that you have the most feminine tone when you write. I thought I was arguing with a girl this entire time and now it just makes me laugh that you are a guy and that full of yourself. You are ridiculous. Have wonderful Holidays jerk
How can a person have a feminine tone when they write? How can you pick up on feminine or masculine or male or female in a person's writing unless they say "hey, I'm a girl" or "hey I'm a guy" or something.
I mean how can you get a "feminine tone" from emails about stats notes?
People here thought I was a girl too? What do I have to do write "yo dawg wut up?" in order to get across that I'm a DUDE?!
You can have a feminine tone when you write. Not you personally, but in general.
In this case, I think she was just being snotty though, I would not bother with her any further and I'd mark her email as spam.
When I write, I know that it has a very feminine tone. It's very chatty, which is not something I typically find in male writers. I think there are also a lot of words that girls use that many guys typically do not, though none are coming to mind at the moment (sorry pre coffee). Also, the content of a passage (though with stats notes I'm sure this isn't the case) can be indicative of a person's gender...most people write about what they know, I sure do.

When the CDs are played on a Mac or Windows-based computer, the TNT (Tone `N` Tempo) Changer lets you customize the key and tempo of each track to suit your voice and style. (The key changer modifies audio playback via computer only. The sheet music remains in its original key.)
Masculinity without men. In Female Masculinity Judith Halberstam takes aim at the protected status of male masculinity and shows that female masculinity has offered a distinct alternative to it for well over two hundred years. Providing the first full-length study on this subject, Halberstam catalogs the diversity of gender expressions among masculine women from nineteenth-century pre-lesbian practices to contemporary drag king performances.Through detailed textual readings as well as empirical research, Halberstam uncovers a hidden history of female masculinities while arguing for a more nuanced understanding of gender categories that would incorporate rather than pathologize them. She rereads Anne Lister’s diaries and Radclyffe Hall’s The Well of Loneliness as foundational assertions of female masculine identity. She considers the enigma of the stone butch and the politics surrounding butch/femme roles within lesbian communities. She also explores issues of transsexuality among “transgender dykes”—lesbians who pass as men—and female-to-male transsexuals who may find the label of “lesbian” a temporary refuge. Halberstam also tackles such topics as women and boxing, butches in Hollywood and independent cinema, and the phenomenon of male impersonators. Female Masculinity signals a new understanding of masculine behaviors and identities, and a new direction in interdisciplinary queer scholarship. Illustrated with nearly forty photographs, including portraits, film stills, and drag king performance shots, this book provides an extensive record of the wide range of female masculinities. And as Halberstam clearly demonstrates, female masculinity is not some bad imitation of virility, but a lively and dramatic staging of hybrid and minority genders.

I'm 5'5 and 170lbs female, I need to lose 40 pounds. What work outs can i be doing in the gym?
I DON'T want to get big, just tone and lose this fat.
Cardio/Swimming/Stationary Bike-- how long? how many times a week?
full body weight training--how many sets? reps?
what parts of the body should i work out the most?
Please help i'm clueless!!??
if anyone can shed some light about healthy foods too that would be greatly appreciated!
Don't fixate on a scale. Get a tape measure and measure your waist, thighs, arms, etc. Using a scale can frustrate you, because as u workout u gain muscle, which weighs more than fat! You need to mix in cardio with weight training alternate, but do different exercises, going and doing the same routine will allow your body to get used to that exercise. You have to mix things up. Start out slow, maybe 10 to 15 min on a stationary bike with light resistance, then treadmill for 5 to 10 min and gradually increase resistance and time. When lifting weights use light weight, but do high repetitions like 15 reps and in 3 sets. Use the right form, have a trainer show you how to use the equipment there at your gym and u may want to consider using a personal trainer for the first month or so til u get the hang of things. Just alternate exercises, so your body stays confused and you don't get bored.
Drink plenty of water, avoid sodas and drinks high in sugar. Eat fruits and vegetables for snacks, avoid fried foods. Eat a healthy breakfast, grain cereals, fruit, egg whites, etc. Avoid fast food places. Eat grilled chicken, avoid mayo and excessive cheese and fatty salad dressings. Nuts are an excellent source of protein and try to limit the amount of red meat you eat. You can e-mail me if u have more questions. I work out about 4 times a week and have been doing that for 20 years. Keep up the pump!!!
