homemade mannequin?
what is something sturdy that will hold the form of your own upper body shape not using chickenwire. i will use plaster or paper mache to cover it...but i dont know what to use to hold the shape before the paper mache? any ideas???
i also can't use my own body to paper mache because that will take hours..i dont have the time to sit in one position for hours to dry.
Then check out the bandage material used by orthopedic doctors - the stuff they make casts out of. It use to be plaster of paris and gauze - which you could make yourself if need be. The thin layer heats and hardens quickly. The newer cast material is really an epoxy the activates with water and does not have fumes. Paper Mache takes too long to dry.
Put a layer of vazaline on your body or plastic wrap - work with plaster and gauzy material with the help of a friend to smooth the surface. Good luck.
