Haunted Mannequins
What are some other ways for a sculptor to get some gigs?
I could use some brainstorm suggestions on other fields and industries to look into. I am a pro sculptor and mold maker who has worked in theatre, film, and the commercial/architectural industry. I began in Hollywood creature effects but not so much work there since CGI. I would like to work in the international haunt (Halloween “haunted house” mazes) industry and sell my own stuff eventually. In the meantime, I’m sad broke! What other industries are there who hire folks with my skill set? I have worked on scenery (for live theatre, theme parks, movies), props for television commercials, mannequins, puppets, toys, make-up fx, architectural elements, installation fine art sculpture, museum pieces, and of course on Halloween masks and props. Almost 20 years of experience.
Other industries that employ practical sculptors or mold makers? I’ve mostly worked in the entertainment arts but I’m no longer married to the idea. Thanks
I don't think there are many jobs, but if you get into it it might turn out good. Look into artifical limbs and prosthetics for medical reasons. I could imagine your skills could be a plus there.
Also don't know if there is a field which teaches e.g. burn victims or people waiting for reconstructive surgery makeup methods to hide scars or other disfigurations.
The health care field is usually more recession proof than entertainment.
Though if you are broke I would look into any job including sales person or construction work or anything which might give you some cash until a decent job comes around. Custom window decoration companies might also be working for you.

Let's Play The Grudge #09 - Mannequin Sex
There's a movie I saw as a young child that haunts my dreams. Can anyone help me identify the movie?
All I remember of this movie is the last 5 minutes of the movie. The song "Nothings gonna stop us now" by Starship was playing and I believe it was a sci-fi movie. There was a male and female in the last scene. The female was covered in a red substance (maybe blood and some kind of slime) and the guy had a spacesuit on. They were holding each other and the credits rolled. I'm 26 now, so I had to have seen it in the mid 80's. IT'S NOT Mannequin! I think it's a space movie! Anyway the damn movie haunts my dreams and drives me crazy. I've checked imdb.com and I’ve googled it, but I can't find this movie! Am I crazy or is this a real movie?
