How can I make this....?
I have a boutique and I need a mannequin but I have a small budget but good taste... Slight money problem... So I have seen what I want and thought i'd have a bash at making it.... There is a link below of something like what I want....
I know all it is is a mannequin covered in paper... But how do I go about it... If I buy a mannequin to cover in paper does it need to be a solid surface like plastic...? Or can I cover on top of the material mannequins...? Also when I have done this to amke the mannequin more durable do I need to coat it in something after...?

If you have an old mannequin then you can strip the fabric off of it, it's just glued on to plastic. Then take a light bit of sand paper and sand off the old glue. Then use the paper you want and hodge podge glue. You can get hodge podge glue at your local craft store or online. Follow the directions for the glue and poof new mannequin!

If you are going to buy a plain pink plastic half-chick then the paper you choose can be glued to the plastic. An over-coating of a polyurethane will solidify and preserve it. And give it a nice finish. Which appears to be what they have done with the maps on dolls theme.
Beyond that I have an article from THREADS online Magazine that shows you step-by-step how to make your own mannequin for sewing your own clothing. If you cannot find it online, email me and I will pull it and send it too you.
PS: EBay sells some very interesting Mannequins. Maybe what you want is already there!!
