Two Brazilian Female

recent brazilian song?
i'm searching for a song i've heard on the radio, but since it was in portuguese i couldn't catch any of the lyrics... but it was so sweet and cheerful that it was stuck in my mind...
it must be quite new since i never heard it before one or two weeks ago, it was sang by a female voice and began with some guitar...
kind of bossa nova style...
It might be by the Brazilian band CSS?

Brazilian Rhapsody $17.99 The vast wealth that is Brazilian popular music is explored here by conductor-pianist Daniel Barenboim and a select international group of friends. Most of the tunes come from the school of samba and its jazzier hybrid successor bossa nova, but there are also some classical selections, including two of Darius Milhaud's touching 'Saudades do Brasil' for solo piano and a quintet arrangement of Heitor Villa Lobos 'Bachianas Brasilieris No. 5' with the famous vocalise line given to the flute of Emmanuel Pahud. Composer-vocalist Milton Nascimento, a superstar of Brazilian music, lends his inimitably delicate voice to two songs, his own 'Travessia' and 'Eu sei que vou te amar' by the godfther of bossa nova Antonio Carlos Jobim. |

Brazilian Rock $78.07 Brazilian rock refers to rock music produced in Brazil and usually sung in Portuguese. Rock entered the Brazilian scene in 1956, with the screening of the film The Blackboard Jungle, featuring Bill Haleys Rock Around the Clock, which would later be covered by the singer Nora Ney and have a Portuguese version. In 1957 Miguel Gustavo wrote the first original rock n roll song Rock and roll em Copacabana, recorded by Cauby Peixoto. Other rock artists of the 1950s were Celly Campelo and Sergio Murilo, singing covers and versions from the United States and Italy. The electric guitar already was used in Brazil in 1948, in Bahia State, Salvador city, by Dod e Osmar: they invented the famous pau eltrico portuguese for electric stick the first electric guitar without microphonic feedback, with its typical acute color characteristic and sustained sound, no more similar to the previous jazzistic electric guitar models (then they developed another with two arms) and in 1949 they played carnival songs with this guitar at the first time in an open car named then Trio Eltrico on the Salvador streets (today in the big trucks with a very robust sound). Brazilian TucoTuco $98.77 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Brazilian Tucotuco, Ctenomys brasiliensis, is a tucotuco species from South America. It is found mainly in Brazil, though Charles Darwin mentions it during his trip through present Uruguay. Rodentia is an order of mammals also known as rodents, characterised by two continuously growing incisors in the upper and lower jaws which must be kept short by gnawing. Forty percent of mammal species are rodents, and they are found in vast numbers on all continents other than Antarctica. Common rodents include mice, rats, squirrels, porcupines, beavers, chipmunks, guinea pigs, and voles. Rodents have sharp incisors that they use to gnaw wood, break into food, and bite predators. Most eat seeds or plants, though some have more varied diets. Some species have historically been pests, eating seeds stored by people and spreading disease. Brazilian Female Singers Notes 2 (A2-G#7)
International student with 2.9 GPA?
I'm applying as a freshman to some of the CUNY and SUNY schools and I'm wondering if I actually have a chance.
Female / 21 / Brazilian
2.9 High School GPA
107 (out of 120) TOEFL score
I didn't go to college after I graduated high school. Instead, I worked as a children's Basic English teacher for two years, then I lived in Westchester County in New York as an au pair for 25 months. Now I'm back in Brazil and I really need to focus on college. What can I do to make my application more "attractive"?
By the way, the CUNY schools I'm aiming at are Hunter and City College. I'm applying to Baruch, Brooklyn College and Queens College as well, but I realize those are more selective. As for SUNYs, I'm thinking Purchase, Old Westbury and Farmingdale. I might try Albany even if it's kind of a long shot.
Well, what are my chances?
I do realize studying in the US is quite expensive.
I'm hoping to pay around 15k for tuition and around 10k for room and board.
CUNY has a very low reputation. Read the attached article.
I suggest you reach a little higher, to SUNY-IT, in Utica, NY.
Are you sure you understand how expensive USA schools will be for you as an International Student? Perhaps you should look at New Zealand schools instead.
