Makeup Mannequin Head
mannequin head, is there a way to make one?
i wanted to make a mannequin head to practise makeup on. is there any way to make one? or if anyone knows where i could buy one that has 100% real hair? and able to do makeup on?
If you want to make one for makeup, the best way is to make a plaster cast of someone's face. You can do that by having a volunteer sit for you, then rubbing petroleum jelly on their skin and putting straws in their nostrils for ventilation, then putting plaster around their face. Be careful not to get it into their hair. Once the plaster is dry you can remove it.
At this point you have a few choices. If you want a good, cheap material you can fill the plaster mold with epoxy resin. The downside is that it won't have the elasticity of skin. A more expensive but more lifelike alternative would be a gelatin-based mixture. Once it has set and cured you can remove it from the mold and you're ready to go.
You can also keep the plaster mold to make more faces later on.
