Headless Euro
What graphics card could I upgrade to without upgrading the power supply?
Hey guys, some time soon I'll be getting a Dell Inspiron 560 (http://www1.euro.dell.com/uk/en/home/inspiron-560_headless_rec/fs.aspx?refid=inspiron-560_headless_rec&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1£449 bundle) and I think that 4GB of RAM and 2.5Ghz quad-core processor is damn good for someone like me looking for a semi-powerful gaming PC. Anyway I'll be getting an ATI Radeon 5450 1GB with it, but I wanted to ask, what could I upgrade to which is more powerful and which wouldn't require me to get a new power supply? I'm looking for something quite powerful and between £50-£100.
You aren't going to get much of an upgrade for that machine without upgrading the PSU. A 4850, would be the bottom line card that would compare to the 5450, without being a downgrade. Most of the 5000 series cards worth menioning would need a better PSU than Dell offers. Just bite the bullet one step at a time, get a good PSU, then graphics card...

Using Google, £319 ≈ $518.89.
To be honest, I do find that Dell has ridiculous prices; especailly for it's upgrades. Using the Customize thing, upgrading to an E8400 costs around £120 ≈ $195.19 on top of what you are already paying! You can get a E8400 for $160! They also charge £110 to upgrade to a GT220. You can get a HD48500 for less than $100 (about £61 if you don't include higher prices and stuff).
To be honest, if you buy that, your money will be wasted!
