I think you got most of the plot flaws, especially "The Philosophy of Time Travel" book that Donnie never gets. It even has a picture of Frank inside it, someone Donnie never met! I couldn't completely follow the hideous plot but it seems to me that some characters are Manipulated Dead, Manipulated Living and Living Receiver's. Time keeps rewinding and you cant follow whats going on. When do any Tangent Universe's start and isn't that the whole point to reset them...They seem to get reset several times!!! Another major plot flaw is people seem to time travel or go through portals back to the Primary Universe. That is completely against the rules of DD, only metal can go through the portals. I don't know why the film wasn't made to follow the same parameters as the original. It would have been just as easy and a million times more popular. If there is ever another film then Richard Kelly has to be involved. Perhaps it could tell Grandma Death's story and why she wrote The Philosophy of Time Travel?
