Head Man Display

Are there other seating arrangements for the bridal party besides a head table?
We want our bridal party to be able to sit with their dates/spouses during the dinner so we're thinking about doing something other than a head table.
I thought maybe a larger round table compared to the other dining tables (like a table of 10) that included myself, my husband, our parents/grandparents and maybe the minister. I think a head table puts you on display while you're eating and I'm not comfortable with that. The best man could still stand to give his speech but could be seated at the next table over.
Anyone have any good ideas for an alternative to a head table?
I have been to a wedding recently where the seating was similar as you suggest above.
The other way to do this is to have two long tables (such as you see with a roast on television) and have everyone sit at the table that is in the wedding party, and family members. Depending on space, however, it might be practicable.
The only other suggestion is to have all of the tables connect in some fashion so everyone feels that they are part of the same table (a large square, rectangle or circle of tables).
I would also ask the hall or room where it is being held if they have a good suggestion.

My man doesn't do any traditional romantic things for me - does this mean he cares for me any less?
My man is not the type who displays emotion very often, if at all. He is very physically affectionate, with lots of hugs and gentle kisses. However, he does not have a romantic bone in his body, as it were. I am very much a romantic, and like to give him little surprises out of the blue - for example, yesterday he let me know he had a bad day at work, so I travelled for over an hour to make sure I could give him a six pack of his favourite beer before he headed home from work. I care about him a lot - he just seems really dense sometimes in that he doesn't think about doing similar things for me. He cares for me in his own way - for example, when I said (in random conversation) that muscled arms turned me on, he started lifting weights to build up his arms. He's been doing it solidly ever since (around 6 months now), and enjoys showing me the results. Because he doesn't do traditionally romantic things for me, does this mean he cares for me any less?
My boyfriend is not the flowers and candy type of guy. He shows me he cares in other ways. You don't need something that will be eaten immediately or something that will die within a week to prove that you care. It's the physical and emotional things they do. Kissing, holding, cuddling, telling you everything will be alright after a bad day, etc.
