Flesh Black Female
A question about my bettas?!?!?!?
Hi, I have been spawning bettas for a while now, and I wanted to try I crazy new color pattern. So I was wondering.... my 2 fave fishes right now are a flesh-colored female (She is so clear that you can see her tiny heart inside of her!) ghost, and a completely black delta tail male, kisho.
If I spawned these two opposite colors, what would happen? I just wanna know so I don't waste my time with some bettas that aren't so great (lol) thanksalot!!!!!
oh, and ps, guessing is fine, but tell me if you are going to guess please! I totally love your input, but plz don't pretend that you are the master of betta genetics if you aren't. (thanks!)
Well i dont know if you might know about genetics and genetic terms, well anyways here i go.............
In bettas, Black (melano) is recessive, not diminant. In the layers of colors of the betta, black is usually covered by other colors. You will get 0% melano bettas, because abviously, the female does not have the recessive gene for black. You will however get black genotype bettas (i hope you know the genetic terminology).
I am guessing that you might get marbled bettas. Black (melano) bettas come from spawns from blue, more commonly stell blue bettas, so it wouldnt be uncommon for a melano betta to produce blue bettas. So i am predicting that you will get some blue marbled bettas (multicolor) and possibly some flesh colored fish (called cellophane bettas).
So here is my prediction
100% melano/blue marbled bettas (melano geno)
So, if you breed one of the offspring to each other, you will have the possiblility to get some melano, if you breed one of the offspring to the melano parent, you will have an even higher percentage of melanos.
Melanos are hard to produce, since the females are infertile, so the male melanos are bred to blue or black lace females.
Honestly, it wont be anything new, i mean i think everything has been done. I think you would end up with some beautifull fish.
as for finnage, i cant tell since i dont know what the quality of each of their finnage is.
stick to breeding for melanos, since they considered to be of more quality

Feast of Flesh $12.99 Song titles often let you know what type of music you're getting. The titles on Bone Gnawer's FEAST OF FLESH include "Cannibal Cookout," "Hammer to the Skull," "Hatchet Face," "The Lucky Ones Die First," and "Make You Die Slow"; in other words, Bone Gnawer favors unapologetically stereotypical death metal song titles -- specifically, the type of song titles that are plentiful in the grindcore school of death metal. But while FEAST OF FLESH is, in fact, death metal, it isn't grindcore per se. Bone Gnawer, a part-Swedish, part-American foursome that includes singer Kam Lee (of Massacre fame) and bassist Rogga Johansson (known for his work with Paganizer), thrive on the over-the-top horror/gore imagery that grindcore favorites like Cannibal Corpse and Carcass are known for. But musically, Bone Gnawer offer a death metal/thrash approach (with slight hints of black metal on occasion) that isn't quite as extreme as grindcore. Lee's Cookie Monster vocals are fairly easy to understand, and the tunes are -- in their brutal, vicious way -- hooky and infectious. They are also quite ironic. Like Cannibal Corpse and Carcass (or for that matter, GWAR), Bone Gnawer are big on shock value but bring so much irony to their gore-drenched lyrics that they end up sounding campy and goofy rather than genuinely disturbing. This 2009 release is an exercise in dark humor, which has always been a primary ingredient of this type of death metal. FEAST OF FLESH is hardly groundbreaking by 2009 standards, but it is still an entertaining listen if one has a taste for goofy horror-themed death metal. |
