In the windows of every shop and store selling women's footwear, female shoppers are generally greeted with images of mannequins sporting towering heels that seem to get higher each season. Trends come and go with the passing of the seasons, such as wedges, clogs and kittens, but many fashionistas remain devoted and dedicated followers of stilettos.
