Formal Wear Mannequin

Black suits and black neckties are classic pieces. Classic as they may be, you should not wear them outside funeral homes when the sun is up unless you are actually going to a funeral. However, we should not be limit ourselves to wearing black pieces only during funerals. You can make your black suit match other occasions with the right balance.
Here are the things that you can do to jazz up your suit:
1. Add color. Men look drab in their black suits because they don't wear any color with it or any other accessories to go with it. Black suits and white shirts are only perfect for parties that requires you to wear black. Unless it's the other way around, a little bit of color wouldn't hurt and it's probably the best way to go.
2. Optimize your necktie. Black goes with any other color. Neckties can compensate for the absence of color. If you're not wearing a tie, wear a colored shirt. Your shirt does not have to be in a bold color. Pastel colors like blue, lilac or pink would be perfect as it gives the needed contrast to the blackness of your suit. For best results, you can pick up both: a pastel colored shirt and a matching tie for the ultimate combination with your suit.
3. Choose the right accessory. Wearing the right accessory can definitely jazz up your otherwise boring black suit. Choose a pair of bold cufflinks. You can wear striped cufflinks, or colored ones. You can even wear pocket square cufflinks in royal blue or pale red. They are eye-catching and contrast is one of the best solution to make your black suit make seem less formal yet still ultimately stylish.
4. Do not be so uptight. You can wear black and still look fabulous even if you leave it undone. The prescription for wearing black is only good for rites and burials, and unless you're going to any of these affairs, you can be lax about it. Wearing your black suit like how store mannequins wear it only implies all the negative connotations connected to black suits.
When you dress up, you can undo three things: First, you can remove the necktie and leave the top button of your shirt undone, of if you want to be bold, leave two buttons undone. Lastly, wear a shirt that has a natural wrinkle on it to give your look more depth. Black suits are extremely formal and structured. The only way to look like the maitre d' would be create an anti-thesis and be ironic. Sloppiness does not necessarily mean looking sloppy. It can even give you the sharpness that you need.
5. Put your faith in your suit. Fashion aficionados can always guarantee the claim that black suits are the most style-safe piece that you can own. They are very versatile pieces and you can wear them with striped, polka dot or bold ties. You can even wear your red kicks with it and you'd still look trendy.
You need more than just fashion sense to pull off your suit without looking like you've just been to funeral. Have fun and learn how to mix and match your clothes. As mentioned, black suits are very versatile, thus you can just be you and wear them undone or uptight.
