Form Sitting Skin
My boxers skin under his eye is raw.?
His eyes are constantly watering. The vet gave me steroids to put in his eyes. This helped heal the skin only while i used it. His eye still watered alot. We did this when he was a puppy as well from the vet thinking his tear ducts didnt form properly.
The skin is now red, raw & he scrathes it & took a big gash out. I put neosporin on it but its not helping.
Will i have to get this piece of skin removed because it forms a deep fold where the moisture sits & aggrivates the skin.
Take the dog back to the vet ASAP before it gets worse and becomes badly infected. While you are there get a referral to an canine eye specialist and get these eyes fixed.
Any vet can test on the spot when you visit to determine if the tear ducts are blocked and if they are it can be fixed. Didn't your vet do this test?
It would be the first thing my vet would do given the dog has those symptoms.
