What can i wear to a receptionist job?
I just got a job as a receptionist at a Collision center. its a nice newly built place. How should i dress for that job? i'm 23 and i just graduated form college and it will be a full time M- F job.
My mom says i dress too fancy and that i shouldn't wear heels to work because of all the men that will probably be around there. she says its too racy and that i should wear jeans and sandals
I totally disagree! i dont know..i havent asked yet what their dress code is, but either way what do you think?
I thought receptionists were hired in part to greet people and i thought their appearance was one of the most important things
I usually just try to wear slacks and a nice top with black heels. I never wear skirts, and if i wear a dress id wear tights underneath or should i not even wear a dress?
I think you should definately NOT wear jeans and sandals!
I think it is really important to dress one above the level you are, take pride in yourself... and you are in an office job.
So firstly, look at what the others are wearing around you in the office and take note.
I think a dress or skirt looks great in a corporate situation as long as you wear dark stockings underneath and they arent too low or short at the hem.
I always think heels are a nice touch.
Invest in a couple of pairs of nice black slacks, a wrap dress, two or so high waisted skirts and some stylish shirts and mix and match also a nice cashmere black cardigan.
also... a little hint... bring a long a pair of spare flats to leave under your desk... sometimes those heels can be killers after a full day

What interest does God have in what Its children decide to WEAR?!?
So you're God, you've just created the universe in a week or so. You've created the universe, and created a (relatively) tiny planet that can support a wide variety of life forms.
You perhaps decide to deliver unto your human followers a set of rules which they are to follow in order to gain entry into Heaven.
Among these rules, you prescribe that men and women shall wear different clothes, and that for a women to wear a man's clothing or vice versa is an abomination.
Will a woman dressing in slacks or a man wearing a dress spell doom for their eternal soul? Does this make sense?
Or, does it make more sense for men in power in ancient times to add that little bit into the Scriptures so that they could more easily assume power in society over women?
Deuteronomy 22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
If you make it fundamental, then your question is answered.
The fundamental truth is this...
The entire thing was made up in ancient times and it was added upon little by little until these Paul Bunyan type stories were accepted as truth to control people's loyalty to who controlled the state.
People in fear of hell will never attack the rich.
The first rule is to separate the races to control a society.
The second rule is to separate the sexes to control a society.
The third is to separate beliefs to control a society.
Then, once you've got them all "hook line and sinker" - You can tell them that its an abomination and a sin to think other than their set of rules.
They absolve themselves of being the rule makers because their stories have been so affective in brain washing people not to question authority, that they actually think the rule maker was supernatural and not made up by human beings.
Thus, as simple thing as cross dressing, is considered a violation against the ethics of that belief which is called a sin, and according to the rules that these absolved people made up or so they say they didn't make up... You are a blasphemer and are going to hell unless you change your ways that feel unnatural to you.
